Visitor centre opening hours over Christmas

24/25 December - closed

26 December - open 11am-3pm

Directions and public transport

The park is signposted from the A2 at the Shorne/Cobham junction, just south of Gravesend.

The nearest train station is Higham or Sole Street (3 miles).

Parking

A pay and display car park operates at Shorne Woods Country Park throughout the year, seven days a week. Charges are Monday - Friday £2.00. Weekends and Bank Holidays £2.50.

Season ticket and off-peak season ticket

For £35 you can enjoy unlimited parking all year with our Kent Country Parks season ticket

Alternatively for £15, you can enjoy unlimited parking from 5pm-dusk, May-October, with our off-peak season ticket

Boths season tickets are available from the visitor centre or by calling 08458 247 600.

Easy access

The park has easy access features and facilities. Paths are largely suitable for electric scooters. Electro scooters are available for £2 per session after a pre-booked training session.

About

Shorne Woods is a Site of Special Scientific Interest within the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

The park is renowned for its wildflowers and wildlife and also has strong links to the past, as it lies on what was the Cobham Hall Estate. Find out more about the history and archaeology of the park.

The eco-friendly visitor centre uses a range of cutting-edge innovations and won numerous awards for sustainability. The visitor centre also plays host to our great cafe, where there is an extensive menu of drinks and snacks to choose from.

Shorne Woods Visitor Centre

Outdoor learning at Shorne Woods

Hosting educational programmes throughout the year, Shorne Woods offers lots of opportunities to learn about the nature and wildlife at the park. It is also one of the few places in South East England to provide Forest Schools.

Learning Destination Scheme

Shorne Woods Country Park is a Learning Destination and provides packs for children to complete on site which can earn them one credit on the Learning Destinations programme run by Kent Children's University. Please ask the Receptionist at the Visitor Centre for a pack when you next visit. For more information about the scheme please see Kent Children's University pages.   

Shorne Woods as a venue

With a unique space and meeting room for hire, Shorne Woods is an excellent venue for everything from business meetings and workshops, to birthdays and club meetings.
