Know your score quiz, dependence risk score - video transcript for Bonnie Arpino

This is the transcript for the video that is part of the results of the know your score quiz.

A short video presentation by Bonnie Arpino, Recovery Worker at Change Grow Live. Bonnie will tell you your score, and talk about the risks associated with your current level of drinking.

Bonnie:

“Hi. Your score indicates a dependence on alcohol. This score means that you are drinking at a level that is damaging your health and you must seek advice. We know lots of people have been drinking more to deal with the impact that Covid-19 and lockdowns have had on our lives.

You may already be experiencing problems in different areas of your life such as health, problems with your relationships and money issues. These are likely to get worse if you don't make changes now. You may have tried to cutdown before but the complications of life can get in the way. Help is available.

You may need medical assistance to address your drinking along with professional help to make positive long-term changes and avoid further harm.

As you are drinking at these levels, we would urge you to get some support and we recommend that you get professional advice before you stop, as stopping drinking suddenly could be dangerous for you.

Please contact your local GP or alcohol support service to get the non-judgemental support you will benefit from. Thousands of people successfully reduce their alcohol use every year and I'm sure you will be able to do the same.”
