Found a Pound campaign transcript

This video transcript is for the Found a Pound Chairman's Charity video.

Chairman of Kent County Council, Gary Cooke, has launched his ‘Found a Pound’ campaign to raise money for the charities that he is supporting during his year as Chairman – Imago and Crossroads, specifically focussing on young carers in Kent.

Interviewer: So, you’ve launched Found a Pound Gary, tell us about it.

Gary Cooke: Well, Found a Pound is to support the charities and the work that the charities do with the Kent Young Carers, and the idea of Found a Pound, was find a pound doesn’t quite rhyme, so I went for Found a Pound. But most people, even knowing that times are difficult, could probably put their hand in their pocket and find a pound that they could do without and if there is a pound in your pocket and you can do without it, then there are ways to donate that to the charities and make a difference for these young people. We’ve got a population in Kent of something like one and a half million people. If one and a half million people just found a pound, that would be one and a half million pounds to support the work that Imago and Crossroads do and that really makes a difference. So, please, Found a Pound.
