You can apply for a Blue Badge online or by post. You can apply or reapply for yourself, for someone else, or as an organisation.

If you already have a Blue Badge remember to make sure you apply in plenty of time before it expires. It can take up to 4 months to process your application. Before your badge expires, we will email you 4 months before. We’ll use the address from your last application. Don't have an email? That's okay, we'll contact you by text or post.

We are unable to automatically reissue badges.

The easiest way to apply for a Blue Badge is to do it online. Before you start, don't forget to get ready all the documents you need to upload.

If you do not live in Kent (Medway, Bexley, Bromley), apply to your local authority.

For staff applying from an organisation, use GOV.UK's online application form.

Apply by post

To request a paper application either:

Post your completed paper application to The Blue Badge Service, Kent County Council Contact Centre, Invicta House, County Hall, Maidstone ME14 1XX.

Let us know an email address in your application to speed up paying for your Blue Badge. If you don’t have an email, call us to chat about your options.

What happens next

We'll send you a confirmation email within 24 hours of applying online. In the email, you will get your 8-digit application number. Make sure you check your spam, junk or other folder.

If you can't see our email, complete our enquiry form. Sometimes if we haven't received your application you may need to apply again.

Our qualified independent assessors look at your Blue Badge application, not your general health. Sometimes we need to ask you for either a face to face or a telephone assessment.
