It's your responsibility to know how, when, and where to use your Blue Badge. We link your Blue Badge to you rather than a car. This means you can use it in any car, whether you're a driver or a passenger.

You must:

  • display it in the car clearly
  • make sure it's in date
  • be the only person using it.

It is an offence if you:

If your badge is lost, stolen, expired, or withdrawn for misuse, we can cancel it. We may fine you up to £1000, or you may lose your Blue Badge.

Get to know your badge rights and responsibilities (including easy read). If you do not drive, anyone who will be driving you as a passenger must know this information.

Updating your details

Keeping your details up to date is important.

If you have moved to a new address within Kent, or you wish to change your contact details let us know.

Email bluebadgeteam@kent.gov.uk to ask for a new application form, if you:

  • have moved out of Kent
  • have changed your name
  • want to replace your faded badge.

If you have moved out of Kent, we are still responsible for your badge until it expires. Once your badge expires, you'll need to apply for a new one with your new local authority.

You don't need to tell us if you have changed your car.

For Blue Badges that are no longer needed, find what to do with them.
