Roles and responsibilities

  • Provide strategic advice and policy development
  • Provide corporate assurance on the development and delivery of key change and transformation strategies/programmes
  • Ensure that key strategic relationships are developed and maintained to support delivery of the council’s priorities
  • Senior Information Risk Owner


David joined Kent County Council’s corporate policy team in March 2008, becoming the Head of Policy and Strategic Relationships in 2011 before being appointed Director of Strategy, Policy, Relationships and Corporate Assurance in 2015.

In his current role, he has responsibility for the provision of strategic advice and policy development to the Cabinet and Corporate Management Team. Including developing the council's strategic statement, and leading KCC’s corporate risk, corporate partnerships and corporate equalities functions.

David was educated at Birkbeck College, University of London and the University of Hull. He has previously worked for Kent Police authority, Westminster City Council and the Greater London authority.
