Kent Community Programme

The Kent Community Programme is running a number of projects across Kent, to encourage young people to gain the practical skills they need to help them find employment, further education or an apprenticeship.

Through these projects young people are working with community centres and care homes to improve the look of the gardens to create a safe and pleasant area for the service users to enjoy.

National Family Week prizes announced

National Family Week emphasises the importance of spending time together with family.

The prize winners of National Family Week (31 May - 6 June) have been announced.  One lucky winner was rewarded with a family ticket to Disneyland Paris.

Dream job for social workers

A social worker who moved from America to work in Kent has said her new job is a "dream come true."

Jill Ferrell, 52, from Texas and her fellow social worker Pilar Reyna from Miami, moved to Kent with 25 other workers who were hired by KCC following a recruitment drive in Boston at the end of last year. Four months into the job, both reflect on their move from the US to the UK.
