Stand for election in 2017
Are you interested in becoming a county councillor to represent the interests of the community?
People stand for election for different reasons. Some are already active in their neighbourhood, others want to get things done and are motivated by a local issue that they feel passionate about.Being a councillor is rewarding. As well as dealing with requests from local people, you'll represent their views at meetings, build relationships with key local contacts and help influence decisions.
The work can vary from a few hours each week to several hours a day. Most county council meetings are held during the day. District, parish and town council meetings usually take place in the evening.
