Faulty street lights
The 2 main reasons street lights stop working are:
- faulty equipment in the street light, such as a failed lamp/LED, or a failed fuse.
- problems with the electricity supply.
Street lights we own
The street lights we own have a code (such as 'ABCD123') on the side of each street light. The code tells us where the light is in Kent.
Don't worry if you don't know the code; our report a fault tool can tell you. If you want to look at all street light codes download a location spreadsheet:
- Ashford, Canterbury, Dover, Folkestone and Hythe, Swale and Thanet (CSV, 5.2 MB).
- Dartford, Gravesham, Maidstone, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and Malling, and Tunbridge Wells (CSV, 4.3 MB)
Report a problem with a street light
We aim to investigate and, where possible, fix the fault within 28 working days. If we can't fix the problem on the first visit, we may need to order parts. The repair may take longer than 28 working days.
If there's an issue with the power supply, we'll notify the supplier. This may take longer to fix the problem.
If 3 or more street lights in a row are not working, we will visit within 24 hours.
