Broadband state aid documents
These documents relate to the work that Kent County Council must undertake to comply with European state aid regulations.
The regulations make sure that public funds are only invested in areas of ‘market failure’. This means areas where there are no plans by any broadband infrastructure provider to provide services under their own investment programmes.
As a result, we will periodically consult as required by the regulations and Broadband Delivery UK, requesting that broadband infrastructure providers update the council on current and planned coverage.
As a requirement of state aid, we are required to publish the link to the BT Openreach website as BT has been contracted to deliver the BDUK Contract 1 and Contract 2 projects.
