Independent schools and colleges

If you have received a draft EHC plan, or are in the process of amending your EHC plan, you can request for your child or young person to attend an independent school or college.

• use the government's school finder
• use the Section 41: Secretary of State Approved List to find details of approved independent educational institutions, independent special schools and post-16 institutions who have successfully completed the Section 41 (Children and Families Act 2014) application process.
