UK Youth Parliament representatives for Kent

Each year the Kent Youth County Council elects 7 Members of Youth Parliament (MYPs) who represent Kent nationally at UK Youth Parliament events.

Elected members

This year's elected members are:

  • Aaliyah Likuluta - Maidstone
  • Chidi Ikediashi - Gravesham
  • Hadyn Cutler - Tonbridge and Malling
  • Liv Hennessey - Ashford
  • Michael Richardson - Dover
  • Shreya Nivarty - Tonbridge and Malling
  • William Murray - Swale

What an MYP does

MYPs represent their community on the national political stage.

They speak to decision makers to raise awareness of the issues that effect young people.

They sit in the House of Commons once a year and attend other national events, debates and conferences.

During national parliamentary elections, MYPs are responsible for promoting the 'Make your Mark' campaign to ensure young people are listened to and their priorities are considered by campaigning parties.

Campaign priorities

At the 2022 annual sitting of the UK Youth Parliament, members voted to focus on a new campaign to raise awareness of the cost of living crisis and health.
