Dr Anjan Ghosh, Director of Public Health for KCC stands in a park, trees and blue skies are in the background on a clear sunny day.
Dr. Ghosh: "Hi, my name is Anjan Ghosh, I’m the Director of Public Health in Kent County Council. So as you can see there’s beautiful weather around us and it’s going to get warmer. I’m here to give you a few tips about how to stay safe and healthy, when it does get warmer.
Essentially it’s three key points: keep cool, stay hydrated and be prepared.
In terms of staying cool, stay indoors when it’s really hot, avoiding direct sunlight, staying in the shade, keeping your room or house cool by drawing the blinds when the sun is coming in, or when it’s cooler outside opening windows and doors.
Stay hydrated, drink plenty of fluids.
And be prepared; avoid travelling when it’s really hot. If you do need to travel, take common sense precautions like taking water with you, putting on sunscreen, wearing sunglasses and wearing loose clothing that’s comfortable for you. That’s the information I have for you."
