A299 Thanet Way
We resurfaced sections of the A299 Thanet Way this summer to improve road safety and driving conditions.
The road surface was uneven because of clay soil under the road.
This fix won’t last forever, but it will make the road smoother and safer to drive on while we continue to look at long‑term solutions.
For longer term funding towards this scheme, we have submitted a bid to the Department for Transport Structures Fund. We expect to hear if our bid is successful in Autumn 2026. Read more about our bids to the Structures Fund.
