Financial resilience means helping people manage money, reduce debt and better cope with future financial shocks, not just providing immediate emergency support.

We are here to provide advice and practical support to help you to make the most of your income, manage bills, and plan ahead. This may include:

  • money and debt advice
  • budgeting support
  • help to access food
  • employment support
  • help to access digital services.

Money advice

The Kent Advice Hub is a free, confidential, independent and impartial money advice service delivered by a network of Citizens Advice organisations in Kent. You can get support over the phone or via video call, or visit one of the video kiosks near you. Trained advisers can help you with a range of money-related matters. They will ask you questions about your financial situation, give advice specific to you and talk about your options to find a way forward.

Visit our cost of living pages for further support.

Help to get online

Digital Kent offers support to residents and communities across Kent, aiming to improve health, education and employment outcomes.

Some Digital Kent schemes:

Digital Hubs are sessions held in over 30 locations across Kent. They enable residents to access support to become, and remain, digitally included and engaged. The hubs are for two hours each month, with 30-minute bookable slots.

The Connectivity Access Scheme provides SIM cards with a data allowance, giving digitally excluded residents access to free internet connection for a specific time frame.

The Device Access Scheme provides digitally excluded residents with laptops. The scheme is currently running in a pilot phase across Kent with collection points only available in Swale, Thanet, Ashford and Maidstone. The scheme is by professional referral only.

Help to buy food, milk and vitamins

With the Healthy Start scheme you get a prepaid card which is reloaded with money every 4 weeks to spend on milk, plain fresh and frozen fruit and vegetables, and infant formula milk. The card also entitles you to free vitamins.

You could qualify for the Healthy Start scheme if you're on benefits and are at least 10 weeks pregnant or have a child under 4. If you're under 18 and pregnant you automatically qualify even if you are not on any benefits.
