Business licences and registration

You must have a licence or be registered with us if you:

  • want to hold marriages and civil ceremonies on your premises
  • make, use or market animal feed
  • have a highway licence (skips, scaffolding, cranes, a-boards)
  • sell second hand goods
  • store or sell fireworks and explosives
  • store or sell petroleum

Licences for the following are provided by borough councils:

  • alcohol
  • busking
  • dog breeding
  • exhibit or train performing animals
  • food and food hygiene
  • gambling
  • scrap metal
  • street trading
  • taxis.
