Disability related expenditure assessment
A disability related expense (DRE) is an extra cost that you may have to pay due to your disability or care needs.
It is a cost you pay which is above what a person without your disability would expect to pay. A disability related expense which is unique to you.
When we work out how much you can afford to pay towards your care and support in your own home or in the community we allow £17 per week for any disability related expenses. We call it a standard disability related expenditure allowance.
