Looking after our highways network
We want to keep Kent’s roads, drains and bridges safe, reliable and ready for the future.
We work with a highways company called Ringway, who help us to look after our roads and the wider transport network across Kent.
How Ringway will help us
Ringway can help us with everyday roadworks and longer‑term repairs, including:
- fixing roads and potholes
- clearing drains
- gritting roads in winter
- looking after bridges and tunnels
- dealing with emergency road problems, day and night.
They use their own teams, equipment and specialist skills to carry out most of this work.
What this means for you
Our 21 year contract with Ringway is worth up to £50 million a year. The contract helps make sure the right teams and resources are in place to respond when problems happen.
Working with Ringway allows us to:
- fix problems faster, so journeys are delayed less
- deal with urgent issues and bad weather at any time
- check the work and costs so services meet agreed standards.
