You can apply online, on CD or by post. You must send at least 4 paper copies with your application. Your case officer will tell you if you need to send more.

Also needed for change of use of land or existing buildings (such as changing farmland into a school playground).

Outline planning permission

Needed if you want to find out whether a development is acceptable in principle.

Needed if you want further details approved (layout, scale, appearance, access and landscaping) once you've had outline planning permission.

Removal or variation of details by condition

Needed if you want to change conditions in a planning application you've already submitted. Conditions are the requirements that may limit, control or direct how the development is carried out.

Approval of details reserved by condition

Non-material amendment following a grant of planning permission

Needed if you've already had planning permission but want to make small changes such as moving a door or window.

This states that a proposed or existing development or operation can be considered as lawful for planning purposes.
