We’ve introduced a new approach to improve how we support you and your child or young person with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Shaped by feedback from families like yours and services, our SEND Information Advice and Guidance (IAG) Offer brings together key support services in one place making it easier for you to find the help you need, when you need it.

These key support services include:

SEND Roadshows

Our SEND Roadshows are free events designed to help you connect with local services, support teams, and other families in person to learn more or ask for support. We aim to hold a roadshow in each district at least once a year.

At each roadshow, you’ll find:

  • helpful information and advice
  • fun activities for children and families
  • access to a range of local and national support services.

We work in partnership with a range of organisations to bring support directly to your community.

Regular attendees include:

Upcoming roadshows

Come along to our upcoming roadshows:

  1. Folkestone and Hythe Roadshow which will be hel at Castle Hill Family Hub on 15 September 2025 from 2pm to 4pm.
  2. Canterbury Roadshow which will be held at Whitstable Family Hub on 12 November 2025 from 9:30am to 11:30am.

Keep an eye on this webpage or check out your local Family Hub Facebook page for future dates.

Attending a roadshow

Our roadshows usually run for 2 to 3 hours. You’re welcome to drop in at any time during the event to speak with services and explore what’s on offer.

Most venues offer on-site or nearby roadside parking. We’re working closely with Family Hubs to ensure locations are accessible by car or public transport.

Children are welcome but there won’t be any supervised childcare at the event.

SEND Podcast

We’ve also launched the SEND Podcast, a new webinar-style series from the SEND Information Hub team. It’s designed to give you easy access to essential information, advice, and guidance at your convenience.

Episode 1 is a great starting point if you're new to the SEND journey. In this episode, we:

  • introduce the SEND Information Hub website
  • highlight key services and support available across Kent
  • chat with IASK and Kent PACT about how they support families like yours.
