Visual impairment specialist resource provisions
Many children and young people with a vision impairment (VI) will require specialist support and equipment to access their learning, or habilitation support. Habilitation involves one-to-one training for children and young people with a vision impairment.
To be considered for a specialist resource provision (SRP) support, your child or young person must have an education health and care (EHC) plan. During the EHC needs assessment, evidence must be provided that without a high level of ongoing, flexible specialist support, they will find it difficult or not be able to participate in activities or learning in a mainstream school.
Broad area of need category as referenced on your child's EHC plan: physical and sensory
