Speech, language, and communication needs specialist resource provisions
Children and young people with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) have difficulty in communicating with others. This may be because they have difficulty saying what they want to, understanding what is being said to them or they do not understand or use social rules of communication.
To be considered for a specialist resource provision (SRP) support, your child or young person must have an education health and care (EHC) plan. During the EHC needs assessment, evidence must be provided that without a high level of ongoing, flexible specialist support, they will find it difficult or not be able to participate in activities or learning in a mainstream school.
Broad area of need category as referenced on your child's EHC plan: communication and interaction
