If your child plans to take qualifications such as GCSEs, it's important to think about this early when planning their education.
You'll need to consider:
- which qualifications they will take
- which year they will sit their exams
- application and registration deadlines
- where they will sit their exams
- which syllabus or course specification they will follow.
Some subjects include coursework or practical assessments. These may need to be supervised and marked by someone approved by the exam board, so it's important to check the requirements before choosing a course.
As a home-educating parent, you'll need to contact an exam centre directly to register your child for exams and pay any associated fees.
