Reconfirm your eligibility for Working Parent Entitlement for 9-to-35-month-olds
About the reconfirmation process
The reconfirmation process may be different for some. If your circumstances:
- haven't changed, you will need to tick a box to confirm this. You will not get a new code because they will extend your existing code for another 3 months.
- have changed, you must update your details and resubmit them. If they reconfirm your eligibility, they will extend your existing code for another 3 months.
If you don’t reconfirm your eligibility by the given dates, it may affect your funding.
How to reconfirm
Applied online previously
If you applied online you must reconfirm your eligibility up to 4 weeks before your reconfirmation date by logging into your childcare service account and finding your reconfirmation date in the 'secure message' section.
HMCR will remind you, 4 weeks before then 2 weeks before to log into your account. The reminder will come via email or text. Don't forget to let them know if your contact details change.
We recommend making a note of this date in case you don't receive the reminder from HMRC.
Applied by phone previously
If you applied by phone before, you must call HMRC at 0300 123 4097. They will confirm your eligibility with you.
Help with reconfirming
Unable to see your reconfirmation dates? Call HMRC on 0300 123 4097. Their Childcare Service Helpline will be able to help you.
Be aware, we give HMRC the start date, end date, and grace period dates of your code. We are unable to make any changes to these dates.
Transfer of funding between childcare providers
Childcare providers do not have to transfer funding to another provider. If you switch providers after the headcount week, you might need to pay the new one until the start of the next term.
Point 8 of the parental declaration states:
"I understand that if I decide to change providers during the term and my child has already been funded for that term that I will have to pay the new provider for the hours my child attends for the remainder of the term".
They can transfer the funding themselves if they are happy to do so. This would be a private matter between the two providers. We do not get involved.
An appeals process is in place for exceptional circumstances such as a move, due to adoption or domestic violence. Email kentcfis@theeducationpeople.org
