Responsible Procurement Charter
We want to use our purchasing power responsibly to deliver value for money and support the economic, social and environmental wellbeing of Kent.
The Responsible Procurement Charter sets out the standards and principles of how we buy goods, services and works. It also explains what we expect from the companies and suppliers we work with. It makes sure we get high-quality services and helps bring benefits to residents, communities and businesses across Kent. The charter outlines our commitments and supplier expectations across several key areas, including:
- supporting local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community and social enterprises (VCSEs)
- delivering social value
- protecting the Kent environment
- tackling supply chain risks
- promoting equality and preventing discrimination
- supporting the Prevent Duty.
Through this charter, we aim to:
- build strong, transparent and collaborative relationships with suppliers
- encourage responsible business practices, ethical supply chains and continuous improvement throughout the life of a contract.
We expect suppliers to demonstrate how they meet these standards and work with us to deliver positive outcomes for Kent.
