The Biodiversity Duty requires public authorities in the UK to actively consider, conserve, and enhance biodiversity when exercising their functions.

The Environment Act 2021 requires local authorities to publish a biodiversity report every 5 years. What is presented here is the first version of its kind to be produced by us.

We are well placed to make improvements for biodiversity through land management, and a wide range of services, strategies and plans.

Our 2026 Biodiversity Duty Report

The report explains all activity in  the last 5 years and looks forward to the work planned for the next 5 years.
