This Market Position Statement explains our plans for housing and care for adults who need social care. It also looks at young people moving into adulthood. As well as those leaving care.

Working together

We’re working together with other councils in Kent and partners. Our shared goal is simple: make sure people have safe homes in welcoming and inclusive communities, so they can live the life they choose.

Our focus

We provide care and support linked to housing, but we also work with others, such as:

  • the NHS
  • housing providers
  • charities.

We want everyone, whether you pay for your own care or get help from us, to have the right options at the right time.

Our main aim

We want to help people stay independent at home for as long as possible. Good housing, adaptations, technology, and timely care make this happen. If you need more help, we’ll make sure there is a mix of choices, such as:

  • supported living
  • extra care
  • residential homes
  • nursing care.

These services should be modern, inclusive, and built around people’s needs and wishes.

Why this matters

This statement shows what housing and care look like now in Kent. Including where there are gaps and what will be needed in the future. It gives clear information so providers can plan, invest, and work with us. This will help councils, developers, and care providers meet the needs of Kent’s people for now and the future.
