About this strategy
Every pound we spend comes from public money. We want to make sure we use it in the best possible way for everyone living in Kent.
The Delivery of Local Government Efficiency (DOLGE) Strategy explains how we'll:
- cut waste to save money
- work smarter so we can deliver services more efficiently
- make sure money is spent on the services you rely on.
In its first year, we looked closely at how we spend money and found new ways to work better. This plan shows how we will build on that progress in the years ahead.
It supports our Reforming Kent plans and aims to make sure our services are:
- sustainable for the future
- effective for residents
- good value for money.
What the strategy focuses on
We are concentrating on four main areas:
- Working smarter: Finding simpler ways of doing things so we make the best use of our time and money.
- Spending carefully: Managing our budget so we save money without losing the local services you need.
- Finding extra income: Looking for sensible ways to bring in extra funding to help support and protect our services.
- Preparing for the future: Planning ahead so our services stay strong and reliable no matter what changes come our way.
How we will share our progress
We want to be open and clear about how this plan is going. We will:
- regularly report on our progress so you can see what has been achieved
- update the plan whenever new challenges or opportunities arise.
