I want to support young mental health, create safe spaces, raise awareness of ethnic groups, and ensure all youth are seen and represented.

Nirja

My commitment to serving the youth of Folkestone stems from a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing young people in our community. Having actively participated in local youth initiatives, I have firsthand experience in organising and mobilising young people towards common goals. My focus is on three key areas: enhancing mental health support for young people, making folkestone a safer place for all, and promoting sustainable environmental practices within our schools and public spaces. By focusing on these areas, we can create a more supportive and empowering environment for all young people in Folkestone. My experience in public speaking, honed through participation in youth speaks competition and speaking passionately in our KYCC meetings, as a current member, further enable me to effectively represent your interests at the Kent Youth County Council. I am passionate about ensuring that the voices of Folkestone's youth are not only heard but also acted upon.

I believe in true integration - where diversity is not just accepted, but celebrated. I will work to build bridges between communities, promote equal opportunities, and ensure that every voice - regardless of background - is heard and valued. Integration means more than inclusion; it means belonging, representation, and shared progress.
