Nearly two thirds of fatal crashes occur on country roads. This
campaign hopes to raise awareness of the need to read the road, see
the hazards and not take speed to the limit.
Although the national speed limit remains the legal limit on may
of these roads, this speed isn't a target speed.
Grass verges, trees, shrubs and hedges around
the roadside can be part of the natural surroundings or planted to
help reduce noise and make built up areas look more attractive.
We maintain the vegetation on the land that we are responsible
for. A large amount of vegetation is on land we don't own. If
vegetation from private land is causing a problem on a highway, we
can ask the owner to cut, trim or remove the obstruction.
You can report a fault you see to us 24 hours a day using our
online reporting form. After a fault has been reported you can also
track the status of your enquiry.
We use information received from the public as well as our own
surveys and inspections to monitor the condition of roads in Kent
to plan road repairs.
Kent road repair crews are continuing to tackle potholes
throughout the summer that were caused by the worst winter for
nearly 30 years.
