Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Kent and Sussex border, Bewl Water offers a wide variety of outdoor activities, from peaceful walks around the reservoir and trout fishing to more strenuous pursuits like rowing and rock climbing. At Bewl Water Family and Activity Park, on the northern side of the reservoir, you can find a wide array of kid’s activities – there’s an adventure playground, fishing ponds, hydroballing, quad biking and a model boating lake. The Waterside Restaurant and Bar is open from 9am to 5pm, while bike hire and pleasure cruises on board the Swallow are also available. The 12.5 mile Round Reservoir route is open to cyclists and horse riders during the drier months and to walkers all year round. Passing along the shores of the reservoir and rich woodlands and meadows, it also skirts a Nature Reserve on one of the southern inlets of the lake. In addition to the Family and Activity Park, a number of other organisations have made their homes on the banks of the reservoir – Bewl Bridge Rowing Club, Bewl Canoe Club and Bewl Valley Sailing Club are all to be found here. Bewl Water Outdoor Centre, run by Kent County Council, also offers adventurous activity programmes for schools, youth groups and other organisations featuring sailing, canoeing, rock climbing and orienteering.

New for summer 2016, visitors to Bewl Water Country Park will be able to enjoy a relaxing cruise on the water aboard a 70 seater vessel, to be named Bewl Belle.  Take a relaxing cruise along the largest stretch of the reservoir taking in the calmness and tranquility of your surroundings.

As well as the new cruiser visitors will be able to spend time on the water aboard the Water Taxi, the pedalloes and rowing boats.
