Select Committees are time-limited, task specific formal sub-committees of the Scrutiny Committee. They were appointed from time to time to carry out reviews on behalf of the Scrutiny Committee with the same powers as the main committee.

The last Select Committee finished its work in 2019. Since then, the council has changed the way it works. Instead of Select Committees, we now use Short Focused Inquiries, which are smaller, quicker and look at very specific subjects.

Below, you can find their final reports, grouped by what they were about:

Corporate

Adult social care

Children's social care and families

Community safety and crime

Culture and sport

Education skills and employment

Environment

Health and public health

Regeneration

Transport and highways
