Early Help Grant

Early Help Grants are available to support projects that meet one or more of the Local Children’s Partnership Group priorities for children and young people.

These grants will be used to support each of the 12 districts in Kent, allowing local projects and services to be developed in a flexible and responsive way through a community based offer.

The aim of the grant fund is to support local priorities whilst encouraging creativity through projects and services that improve outcomes for children and young people.

To access this funding, you must be a non-statutory, not-for-profit organisation. Your project must also be linked to at least one of the Local Children's Partnership Group priorities (PDF, 185.7 KB).

You can apply for between £500 and £15,000.

You can apply for funding from up to 4 of the 12 districts and submit multiple applications to each district, but no organisation will be awarded more than £15,000 per district.

All projects should be completed within 12 months of receiving the grant funding.

If you receive grant funding, you must be able to evidence the impact your project has had on local priorities.

We award Early Help Grants every year.

Applications are open now and will close at midday on 10 December 2021.

The awarding panels will meet and award the grants towards the end of January 2022 and we'll let you know whether your application has been successful by March 2022.

We then expect you to start delivering the project by April 2022.

Applications are now open and will close at midday on 10 December.

After you've applied

Your application will be assessed against the district priorities by the relevant district’s awarding panel, nominated by the Local Children's Partnership Group. If your project is shortlisted, an area partnership manager may email you to ask for more information. You'll then be notified of the outcome of your application by March.

If your application is successful, we will carry out financial and safeguarding checks before contacting you to arrange payment.
