The scheme enables you to work on real projects from day one, across the vast array of services KCC offers

Age: 27

University: BA Business Administration, University of Kent Canterbury

My current placement is with Strategic Business Development and Intelligence working on the Spend and Cost project. The project seeks to bring together various data sources into one central repository to enable a better understanding of what we spend, who we spend with, and when we spend.

Why I applied for the Kent Graduate Programme – Operational Research Stream

I was looking to join an organisation that would support and invest in me to help develop my professional career. The Kent Graduate programme has been running for 19 years and has a long history of providing actual careers for those joining the scheme, most of which are still at KCC today. This motivated me to apply as KCC could offer me the professional development, training and opportunities I wanted in a career.

Furthermore, the scheme enables you to work on real projects from day one, across the vast array of services KCC offers. I wanted to be part of projects that would positively affect the lives of people in the KCC community. I specifically applied for the Operational Research Stream as I was excited by the prospect of working on transformational projects that seek to understand how services can be improved.
