About the graduate programme

The Kent Graduate Programme differs from other graduate programmes, we don’t follow a strict cycle and the positions we recruit to are shaped around the needs of the organisation.

Our graduate roles typically last for 2 to 3 years and are underpinned by an apprenticeship programme so you will learn and gain in depth knowledge of your chosen profession on-the-job.

We are recognised as being a 'Top Company for Graduates to Work For' by The Job Crowd and have a very experienced team to support you on your development journey - everything you need to build a fulfilling and exciting career in the public sector.

We are a flexible employer and offer hybrid working with opportunities to work flexibly from home and from one of our offices in Kent. Read more about the many benefits of working for us.

Training and development

As a trainee on our graduate programme, you'll get the chance to develop your skills and achieve a recognised apprenticeship qualification (relevant to your chosen profession-based pathway).

You will also have access to our extensive suite of e-learning courses and our graduate development framework which consists of meetings with senior officers, politicians and meetings on key initiatives within the council – everything you need to gain a broad overview of the organisation.

We also offer coaching support to enable individuals to identify their goals and realise their potential.

You will be fully supported from day one by your manager and will receive ongoing support from the Kent Graduate Programme Team and other graduate colleagues.
