About Us
Kent Nature Partnership (KNP) is a coordinating strategic body, standing up for nature in the county. It was awarded Local Nature Partnership (LNP) status by the government in 2012 to drive positive change in the natural environment.
Our Strategy
This sets out the contribution the county of Kent, and the Kent Nature Partnership, can make to the Government’s ambition to leave our environment in a better state than we found it and the aspirations set out in its 25 Year Environment Plan “A Green Future”
Nature Recovery
It is now well recognised that coordinated landscape-scale conservation is required to slow and reverse species declines across Great Britain. This thinking was underpinned by Professor Sir John Lawton in his 2010 report, ‘Making Space for Nature’, which called for “more, bigger, better, joined” wildlife sites.
