Healthy workplaces

Employers can reduce absences due to sickness, increase productivity and save money by supporting health initiatives in the workplace.

By the time we reach our 40s and 50s, many of us will have increased our chances of becoming ill later in life. Whether we are eating the wrong things, drinking more than we should, smoking, or just not being active enough, these small things can add up to an unhealthy you.

Kent and Medway Healthy Workplace programme

Whether you're a small start-up or an established business, the Kent and Medway Healthy Workplace programme can help you:

  • address crucial issues like recruitment and staff retention, sickness absence and employee productivity
  • make positive changes to your workplace environments and attitudes
  • gain a reputation as a leading employer in Kent and Medway, invested in the health and wellbeing of your staff.

Businesses who participate in the programme receive an award and official accreditation on completing a number of pledges that are tailored to their specific needs.

To help businesses complete their pledges our team of specialist advisers offer help with writing health policies, fund training for staff and deliver workshops and activity challenges to employees.

This free programme is funded by Kent County Council and Medway Council and is managed and delivered by Medway Council across all of Kent. To find out more about the programme please visit the A Better Medway website.
