Dover surface water management plan

Based on national mapping provided by the Environment Agency, Defra identified that a significant number of properties in the urban area of Dover may be susceptible to surface water flooding. We were given funding to prepare a surface water management plan covering the urban area of Dover.

Conclusions

The study identified a number of generic and site-specific options to manage the risk of surface water flooding, for the long-term benefit of Dover and its people. The options included the development of a targeted maintenance schedule, raising community awareness of surface water flooding and the use of sustainable drainage systems in new and re-developments.
