The aim of the SEND strategy is to improve the educational, health and emotional wellbeing outcomes for all of Kent's children and young people with special educational needs and those who are disabled.
This strategy incorporates the Accessibility Strategy (under paragraph 1 schedule 10 of the Equality Act 2012).
DfE Special Provision Capital Fund
The DfE has said that over the next 3 years, Kent County Council can expect to receive £6.6 million to improve facilities for children and young people with special educational needs. In 2019, the government announced further funding, with Kent receiving an extra £4,589,277 taking the total received to £11,167,240.
