Indices of Deprivation 2010

On 24 March 2011, the Indices of Deprivation 2010 (ID2010) was released by Communities and Local Government (CLG).  ID2010 updates the previous index ID2007.

Headline findings

The headline findings bulletin presents where Kent ranks on the ID2010.  Change since the 2007 Indices is also presented in order to see whether the level of deprivation in Kent has increased or decreased relative to other areas in England.

Detailed findings

A more detailed report which looks at the type of deprivation in Kent and the reasons for why deprivation rankings in Kent have changed.

District summaries and maps

In addition to the above documents there is a one page ID2010 summary and map for each of the twelve local authority districts within Kent and one for Medway Unitary Authority, and one for the County of Kent as a whole.

Ward level summaries and maps

A ward level measure of deprivation is not published as part of the official ID2010. However, there is high demand for a ward level measure and for this reason KCC's Research & Evaluation team (like many other local government research teams) have calculated ID2010 ward level summaries for Kent (PDF, 1.5Mb).
