Area profiles pull together a range of data on varying topics.

Different types of profiles are available:

  1. Area profiles - We provide separate profiles for local authority districts and for electoral wards within Kent. The data in the district profiles (Excel, 3.59Mb) includes information relating to the population, crime, deprivation, employment, business, the economy and development (housing and industrial). The data in the ward profiles (Excel, 2.2Mb) contains information relating to population, crime, deprivation, dwellings, life expectancy and births. All information in these profiles has been taken from the most up-to-date sources available.

  2. Economic profiles - these look at the economic performance of each of the twelve local authority districts in Kent. They include a comparison between 2003 and 2010 indicators and identify the local authority district in England with the most similar economic performance. These profiles are not available for areas smaller than local authority districts. Economic profiles (PDF, 151k).

  3. Equality & diversity profiles - these profiles pull together equality and diversity characteristics including; age, gender, ethnicity, religion and disability, for local authority areas within Kent.

  4. 2001 Census profiles - these provide information about the characteristics of the population in a given area based on data from the 2001 Census. The profiles have been produced for all parishes, electoral wards and county electoral divisions in Kent.

  5. Education Profiles - Annual Facts and Figures booklets are published by Kent County Council's Management Information team. They present information on the number and type of schools in each local authority district as well as pupil numbers and national curriculum attainment data.  A Kent Children's Trust Planning Toolkit is also available to support the County's work on children and young people.

  6. Health profiles - Two types of health profile are available.  The Kent and Medway Public Health Observatory provide health and social care maps for Kent and Medway. The Association of Public Health Observatories provide interactive health profiles for all local authority districts in England.
