All aboard the bus for a route to success

Apprentices bus with Paul Carter

I launched the new customised apprenticeships bus outside County Hall yesterday (Wednesday 26 May), which is now going out and about in Kent, taking the word on apprenticeships to the street.

We want to transform the way apprenticeships are promoted by taking the information directly to businesses and young people in town centres, industrial estates, shopping areas, schools and colleges.

I can’t stress enough how valuable apprenticeships are and I’m delighted that we can get out there now and help both employers and young people to understand what a fantastic opportunity they are.

There are still employers out there who think that taking on an apprentice means red tape and form-filling but it absolutely doesn’t – we’ve removed the bureaucracy and this bus means that we can take the real message about apprenticeships directly to them.

The outside of the new bus is emblazoned with the key benefits of apprenticeships, which include:

  • improved productivity
  • a motivated workforce
  • eliminating skills gaps by growing your own staff
  • tailored training to meet your specific business needs.

Inside the bus is a meeting area, so if you see it stop, come aboard, talk to the apprenticeship team and find out how apprenticeships can work to benefit businesses in Kent.

To find out more about apprenticeships and where the bus where will be next you can phone 0800 098 8825.
