SSAFA Forces help
One day's service, a lifetime of support
SSAFA Forces Help is the UK’s oldest Armed Forces charity. It is
the national charity committed to helping and supporting those who
serve in the Armed Forces, those who used to serve (Veterans),
and the families of both.
They provide practical help and assistance to anyone who is
currently serving, or has ever served, even if it was only for a
single day. SSAFA are here for them, their families and their
dependants, wherever they are.
SSAFA Forces Help has a weekly drop-in Help Desk which provides
support that is: practical, financial and emotional.
Major Gerald Bartlett, Divisional Secretary, Canterbury/Ashford
Division, said “We have been running the help desk in the Ashford
Gateway every Friday since the beginning of July and it is proving
to be successful. There are a large number of service veterans that
have retired, and serving personnel and their families living in
the area."
Anyone who would like further information on the support SSAFA
Forces Help provides or information on the drop-in service provided
by the Help Desk can contact Major Gerald Bartlett, Divisional
Secretary, Canterbury/Ashford Division, directly, on 01227
