Rushenden link road, Sheppey

The South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) is promoting the further development and regeneration at Rushenden and Queenborough on the Isle of Sheppey. The proposals involve substantial mixed commercial and housing development to complement the existing development and to provide new employment and homes.

Access to the existing development through Queenborough is poor and a new link road between the A249 and the existing and new development areas is proposed.

SEEDA have secured Community Infrastructure Fund provisional funding of £9m from Government together with other government and private sector funding.

The Link Road would be a new carriageway (part dual carriageway and part single carriageway) that would run between the new roundabout at Neats Court constructed as part of the A249 Swale Crossing scheme and pass over the railway to connect to a new junction on Rushenden Road with an intermediate roundabout to serve Cullet Drive.
