20mph zones
|
Kent County Council puts 20mph zones in areas where there
is a history of crashes involving child pedestrians or cyclists.
These zones are mainly used in residential areas.
In these zones, physical traffic-calming measures, such as speed
bumps, are used to keep speeds low.
Who can request a 20mph zone?
Local residents can ask us to consider putting a 20mph limit in
place, if they feel there is significant danger to pedestrians, and
especially children.
If you think there is a need to significantly reduce speed on
your road, you can contact us. |
