Pass Plus is a course that you can take once you have passed your driving test. It consists of at least six hours of practical training.

Why should you do it?

By improving your driving skills and hazard awareness you can reduce the risk of being involved in a serious crash. Many insurance companies offer a discount for young drivers who have completed a Pass Plus course within 12 months of passing their test. Visit pass plus (link opens in a new window) for further details.

To qualify for the £60 discount sponsored by Kent County Council you must

  • be aged between 17-19
  • live in the Kent County Council catchment area (excluding Medway).
  • use an approved driving instructor registered with KCC. To find out about our approved list of driving instructors see our current list of approved driving instructors.
  • register with KCC before starting the Pass Plus course to receive your unique Driver Reference Number. Your instructor will need this number before training. The number is only valid for 3 months.
