Bus fares on commercial services are determined by each
operator and Kent County Council set their fares in line with
these. Most services offer standard single and return fares,
however you may find that a special saver or season ticket offers
better value for money. To confirm the exact cost of a journey
please contact the relevant
operator for your service.
If you are travelling by both rail and bus you may find that a
Plusbus ticket can save you time and money. For further
information, visit our
Plusbus page.
Concessionary Fares
Concessionary bus passes are available to Kent residents over
the age of 60. These passes allow the holder free travel on
services within Kent and on those that cross county boundaries,
providing no change of service is made. Passes are valid from 9am
on weekdays and all day on weekends and Bank Holidays.
For further information, or to find out if you are eligible,
please contact your
district or borough council.
Kent Freedom Pass
The Kent Freedom Pass scheme provides free travel for 11-16 year
olds, all for an annual fee of £50. The Pass is initially being
launched for students attending school in three pilot areas
(Canterbury district, Tunbridge Wells district and Tonbridge urban
area), but it is hoped to be rolled out county-wide in 2009 if the
pilots prove successful.
