Your County - Putting Kent First

Kent 4 star Council

Transport Engineering

Keeping vehicles on the road requires careful attention and sometimes special expertise - particularly for heavy commercial vehicles such as fire appliances and gritting vehicles. Kent County Council has a transport engineering service and repair facility, known as County Workshops, which serves Kent Fire Brigade, other local authorities and many other public sector customers, including the Highways Agency, in Kent and elsewhere.

Car body repair We also offer engineering services to commercial companies and are specialists in accident repair and horticultural machinery. We provide a hydraulic hose manufacture and fitting services and can even design electrical systems for clients. Specialist body conversions for coaches and other vehicles are also handled by us - and we provide a design service for passenger vehicles that need to be accessible for special needs use.

Our facilities are based at Aylesford and two local satellite workshops, strategically placed to the M20, M2 and M25 to allow fast and easy access across the county and beyond. The main workshop has more than 50,000 square feet of floor space - the equivalent of 48 commercial vehicle bays - providing a 'one-stop shop' for maintenance and repair, metal fabrication and coach building.
