Passenger Services is a unit set up by Kent County Council
to provide competitive public, school and specialised passenger
transport services, including dial-a-ride. We compete for contracts
with other providers, but also have a special role in providing
non-commercial but socially necessary bus services in our
county.
We operate various bus routes in and around some of Kent's major
towns. We also service a number of school transport contracts. And
we are increasing our private hire operations.
Our latest fleet of coaches has a bright yellow livery but
that's not the only way the vehicles stand out. They have been
designed to provide the latest range of comfort and safety features
and to allow complete access for passengers with disabilities. This
includes a purpose-designed wheelchair lift with side access to a
specially converted area. Safety equipment includes seat belts for
all passengers and a suite of CCTV cameras to monitor every access
door, what is behind the vehicle and what is happening inside. All
our drivers are fully vetted and have also undergone training in
defensive driving, emergency vehicle evacuation and disability
awareness.
Our coaches and minibuses are available for private hire for
journeys, including school outings, throughout the South East. We
can also take you further afield, to anywhere in the United Kingdom
or on excursions elsewhere in Europe.
