Kent County Council's wide scope of activities means it
has to provide a large number of vehicles of all types, from staff
lease cars to 53-seater coaches - and it needs a specialist
department to handle this: Kent Fleet.
We belong to a group of 17 county and district authorities that
pool their collective purchasing requirements and this centralised
procurement means we can secure excellent volume discounts on
vehicle purchase. And we can pass these benefits on, in turn, by
providing vehicles to other local authorities and to organisations
affiliated to Kent County Council.
Kent Fleet not only supplies lease cars, vans and other vehicles
but also handles ancillary requirements such as motor insurance,
routine maintenance, roadside assistance, annual road fund
licensing and MOTs.
We also have a fleet of minibuses available for spot hire to
organisations affiliated to the council, such as scouts and guides,
at very competitive rate. All vehicles are based at our Aylesford
site, situated just off the A229 at Bluebell Hill. These can be
collected and returned by hirers between 0800 and 1630 Monday to
Friday (except bank holidays). |
